Fasten a batten


After determining the correct height of the window installation, it is useful to fasten a batten to temporarily support the window frame.

Separate sash from frame


To install the frame, it must first be separated from the sash. Open the sash an rotate it through 180 degrees.

Unlocking the hinge

Locate and press the locking mechanism on each hinge (it should make a click) and separate the sash from the frame.

Releasing the hinge

Once the hinges are released, carefully separate the sash and place to one side (store horizontally).

Bracket considerations

Consider where the brackets should be placed in relation to the rafters and the battens. Measure from the support batten (base of window) so that the brackets (two on each side) do not conflict with the existing battens.

Placing brackets

Brackets should be placed so that the black line (groove) on the frame sits level with the top of the battens when fixed.
