When you buy a roof window you are in fact buying two boxes, the window itself and the flashing kit.

The window box contains the frame and sash.

The flashing kit comprises the waterproofing elements and some of the cover parts for the window. It is separate from the window because there are two types of flashing available to deal with different roof coverings.

It should therefore be emphasized that you must buy a window box and a flashing box to be able to complete any installation.
